Observation just before RTN

I have been stressing my acros due to a move to my QT trying to get rid of AEFW.

Two days after the move and a dip in coral Rx, I notice several corrals had "strings" coming out of them. I don't know the name of it, but I thought they were possibly feeding. It was during the light period. Some of the strings were as long as 1 inch.

About an hour later one of the corals with the most "strings" started RTN. It was gone within 4 hours. It was a small colony about 2 inches in diameter.

I did a 50% water change, using my DT water, and the remaining corals calmed down.

Any reason for using CoralRx rather than Bayer?

Really not sure what the strings were.. could have been slime, or mesenterial filaments, both would be caused by stress I suppose.
What about melafix? Is that available? Also way less stressful on the corals.

Yes, filaments. That's the word I was looking for. Thank you.

I don't know about melafix. I will look around.
