What in the world is this red thing? I'm not sure it moves around, use to think that , but the hermit crab I had may have been moving it. At first I thought it was some kind of sponge, maybe some kind of flatworm? Red flatworms don't look like it though.

How does it feel to the touch, hard, soft, abrasive etc?

If I had to guess I would go with some type of sponge.
