Finally pulled the trigger. Bought 3 leopards from live aquaria. A bit delayed due to weather. But all 3 are alive. Have them in a bucket at 1.018 as suggested with air stone and PVC. One is swimming upside down, might not be a good sign. Slowly bringing them up. I killed the lights, when they go in il make sure they are in the sand before turning back on.

And they are in. 2 dived almost immediately. The other is hanging out. Even with lights on

Honestly I dont Qt. I totally get the benefits and negatives not too, I just never have. Il try to post pics in a minute, at least of the one. 3 females, all the same size about. Great coloration. Really hoping they pull through. The one that is out is already hunting for pods.

Sounds good so far! Yea I don't QT eaither, I also get the pros and cons....i haven't added fish in several months, because I keep hearing about increased cases of fish with bacterial infections, or velvet etc. I have a pair of blue star leopards and a pair of Melegris Leopards....I can't wait for one of each of the pairs to hopefully transform into a male! I can't wait to see pics!

OK, here is the swallowtail I got last weekend. Awesome fish. The tang does not like anyone, might rehome if it keeps being this way. Also here is the leopards being acclimated.

Ah well, 1 was an early bird. But has now face planted into the sand. Breathing hard I dont expect it to make it. The other two just came out, eating frozen and hunting for pods. Sigh, let's hope they pull through

Two are still alive and kicking. Eating mysis and brine. They come out around 2 or 3 PM.

Chipping in late (dang cold going around my area):

I've never had an issue with drip acclimating using the bag that they arrived in, but the very first thing I do when I open the bag is add a couple ml of Alpha to soak up the ammonia. I got a couple butterflies off LiveAquaria's Diver's Den last Wednesday (C. semilarvatus and C. fasciatus), treated the bag water with Alpha, 2 hour drip acclimation, 7 minute freshwater dip and they have been active and healthy looking.

Ok, two are still alive. 1 is very skiddish if you move by the tank or make a loud noise it will bury. I assume this will get better in time. Should I try to introduce another female? At the point, they come out around 11am, and are eating both brine and mysis. Thoughts on pairing versus a trio?

All I ever see are trios, though I am sure there are people with pairs. I would say add another female since that was your plan to start with.

Found one, but it was considerably smaller than the two females I have. Do I need to take size into consideration? I do not know if the larger females will bully the smaller. My females are about 2", the one I found was 1".
