How many ounces or pounds of fish would a gram of fish flakes feed, once a day?

How many ounces or pounds of fish would a gram of fish flakes feed, once a day? Or do you know of any specs to gauge how much a certain amount of food should feed?

I always explained it to customers like this:

1 flake/fish/day (depending on the size of the fish of course). If there is any left that settles to the bottom it is too much. If you think you are starving them then you're doing it just about right.

That is also why it is imperative to pre-measure out the food when you go on vacation. Even the most well-meaning fish sitter will over feed.

Ive had friends babysit my tanks for me while on vacation, darn good answer billdogg! I had to pre-wrap ea. days feedings or they were completely lost about the whole affair.
