Skimmer for Red Sea 750
Hi slief,
Is the supermarin 200 too big for the reefer 750xl? Total volume is 200 but display is only 160. I like the construction of the supermarin over the double cone.

I'd go with the Double Cone 200 which be fine as long as you have a reasonable fish load. The SM200 will likely be inconsistent. The SM needs a much heavier load than you're going to get in that size display. If you like the SM, then perhaps you should consider the Deluxe 200. That would be a bit more flexible with the lighter load you would see in a 160 gallon display. It's built like the SM but will handle the lower load better due to the combination of the telescope tube in combination with the wedge pipe for fine tuning as well as other subtle design changes. So double cone 200 or Deluxe 200 if you have a heavier load. If your fish load is on the light side, then a Double Cone 180 may be a good option. Keep in mind that all these skimmers are conservatively rated and sizing should be based more on load than display size since the display sizing is just a rough guideline.
