Kind of odd question
While I was sweeping up around my tank I noticed that some dog hair floated into it. Would this bother anything?

Shouldn't. I get cat hair into my tanks all the time either from my arms going into the tank or the cats poking around.

No problem, unless you have some type of flea killer or spray on your dog.
Dog & cat hair here too. Joyce |

The only reason it should cause you any concern, is if you don't own a dog.

I have a 140 LB German Shepherd with lomg hair. He loves to watch the tank, so there is hair all around....all of the time..
From time to time I see the dog hair in the tank & the filters. Over all the years I have never seen it really do any harm

Maybe you have a dogfish and don't realize it...
not to worry. cat hair and dog hair in small quantities don't seem to affect the water quality.

I ALWAYS have some dog hair in my tank...it is so bizarre, but I suppose it is just the norm in my house (7 dogs, 3 cats...and the fish tank).

Many of the products applied to repel or kill fleas can totally destroy a reef tank, even in extremely small concentrations. If you use these products on your pets, PLEASE be EXTREMELY careful! |
