I am going to follow as I am planning on trying nopox or vodka dosing in a couple of weeks. I've been researching as well. I hope things take a turn for the better Itchy Trigger!

Another thing---if you've let your sump get particularly cruddy, a drain down, cleanout and water change based there might help a bit. Mine post 8 day blackout definitely did benefit by a cleanout.

That's probably a good idea too. I don't think it's too bad in there but I'll take a look.

NoPoX is a acetic acid (vinegar)/ethanol (vodka) at a ratio of approx. 70/30 although Methanol alcohol is in there so as not to be fit for human consumption allowing sales to under 21 and avoid taxes on consumable alcohol.

http://www.mdguidelines.com/toxic-ef...methyl-alcohol

Maybe the dilution makes it safe IDNK

I have been using nopox for a month now. Phosphate and nitrate readings are 0 and no nuisance algae! I also dose reef nutrition. Everything looks great.
