SPS pics from my tank
This one browed out on me a bit recently after coloring it up nicely from being brown...
Saphire Milli Random Aussie Piece with an encroaching tricolor Sunset monti that's about a foot across... I break out the chisel regularly to keep it from killing this chalice Highlighter Stag and some bubble algae I need to tackle soon A recent addition, Tyree Soli Setosa that just doesn't photograph as bright orange as it is with a cool coral that I thought had potential Can't get a good shot, but the new growth that's popping up is a baby blue "dragon" type Acro with green polyps |

Tricolor
TDF bottom left, branching cychastrea, and a random Aussie RR frag Another SSC shot for good measure My Male Bellus, I killed the pair I'd had for a long time by overloading the circuit and the tank not having power for 16 hours. time to look into controllers that will work with my mobile device One of my tricolors |

Eye Candy! You have a tank that rivals the not-for-sale showcase tanks at a lfs. Curiously, what does the RR imply in a couple of your species and also were these shots taken with both white + actinic or just white?
Impressive how you trimmed around the piece next to your chalice piece. Pete you certainly have a blue thumb at this. |

I just run Radium 250w on Lumatek ballasts on the HQI setting with no supplements. In the case of Grape Juice it means Reef Ready, a LFS that originally named and sold that piece. THe other RR's mean Reef Raft. |

Thanks for the kind words guys! Some details on the system...
Total system volume is roughly 270 gallons. There is a 30b frag tank, 45 anemone tank and a 100 gallon stock tank tied into the 156 display. 2 x 250w Radiums driven by Lumatek and coralvue electronic ballasts on the "HQI" setting and housed in Lumen Bright 3's. Photoperiod is just shy of 8 hours. SWC 300a skimmer, no mechanical filtration other than that 2 x mp40s Temp is kept between 78 and 83 and heaters have been kept on timers to encourage some fluctuation from day to night. In the winter I usually switch to allowing the Reef Keeper to control the temps. A Geo 618 calcium reactor replenishes calcium and alkalinity. I may need a bigger one soon... I'm happy as long as calcium is between 400 and 500. Alkalinity is generally maintaind between 7 and 8 dKH, though it jumps a little higher after water changes. I don't bother monitoring PH anymore and no longer have a probe hooked up to my Reefkeeper. No dosing other than magnesium once or twice a year. The tanks are fed primarily flake food once a day in very large amounts. GFO most of the time, though I will let the PO4 rise a bit at times since I feel there are some negatives/unknowns to constant GFO use. GAC for 2-3 days every month or two. |

Some I missed in the first round...
Reef Raft Redbull finally starting to branch out Reef Raft Sabertooth Upscales Microclados No clue what this one is... Ditto CC Oblivious with Red Oxide at the top and Greg Hiller's Aqua delight and SC Orange Passion on the left. This is the half of the tank I revamped a few months back due to a pest paly takeover. My chubby tang My new little girl peeking out from behind the red planet Full tanks shots aren't turning out very well with this camera... |
