Post Vortech mp40??

I have a red sea reefef 525 Xl which is 5 feet.
Will one mp40 be enough for this?
I currently have 5 diff. sizes of jebao wave makers but they aren't doing the job, moving the tank around too much on full swing and has weird flow patterns.
Was wondering if mp40 would be enough for this mixed reef tank? thanks

You should be fine with a mix reef plus the 525 is not too wide so one Mp40 should be ample flow.

1 is ok if you are simply using it as a $349.00 power head. You will want (2) to take advantage of the Vortechs full potential. Slap 1 on each end......get rid of the others if you wish........... and call it a day. I have 2 on my Reefer 450.

Should it be at full blast or lower it down?

You can program it how ever you want from full throttle to slow. I run mine at 75% max utilizing the APEX FUSION. At 100% I was getting sand storms. If you decide on 2, make sure you get the MP40wQD......... the (W) is for the wireless version. This way the 2 vortech's can "talk" to one an other.

1 on 100% reefcrest will probably be more than enough. Experiment with placement.

I just replaced 2 Hydor Koralia 1500s with a single MP40QD at 100% on reefcrest and it's great. Much, much better. Maybe start with a single one and see what you think. You can always add a 2nd one. I promise it will flow all the way across a five foot tank.
