7096 light sensor replacement

My 7096 light sensor is not working, so I can no longer use night mode. Is it possible to cut the wires and attach a new light sensor myself? If so, what type LDR should I buy and what color wires are attached to the resistor vs the moon light?

It is replaceable, it unplugs inside the controller and this is the part you need-
