Wow what a build, any updates on this ?

What are those channels you have your wiring going into?

Bit of an update:

Finally got the coast to coast weir in......

Actually had to laminate 2 x 6mm glass to get what I wanted in the end, it worked out in the end

This meant that I could plumb in the return piping which actually runs through the weir box

After that I needed to finish the return pipes back to the main pump

I added my much needed anti siphon devices x 3 on each side, yet to be fine tuned but you get the idea

And then this is the reef flush system under the yet to be rock scape, should be around 2500gph each side

And all that rock up in the barn had to come down the same way it went up but at least I could lay it out so I could see what I had to play with.

I could start to build the support structures and get creative, well as creative as a short bald guy can be

It's not finished yet but the beauty with the Marco product is that time is your friend and not your enemy, oh and I'm slow and have a crook knee.....

Here's a sneak from the back with some temporary positioning for the MP60's

Wow, you are dedicated to your hobby. Can't wait to see the outcome. Based here in Basel and working on a much smaller level just starting in the hobby but enjoying to watch other people live their dream and letting me follow it through this forum.

180 liter, sumpless reef, no skimmer for the moment.

Current Tank Info: Juwel VISION 180, currently only invertebrates, planning to have low bioload as I have no skimmer and no refugium for the moment.

I just went thru this and looks like youve been very complete in your build. Its really interesting . I love the pics with your daughter in the tank. You should frame one of them and hang it next to the finished product when its all said and done!.

Great job so far. it makes my set up look crude. lolz

Wow.. Just wow! Very impressive and well thought out build! The tank didn't look terribly large until I saw your child in it. That really provides some perspective. This is going to be beautiful when you're done!

Thanks guys, very kind comments coming from the land of large home aquaria, really appreciated.

Got a few things to sort out over the next week and then a week away by the coast before coming back and filling the system up and kicking things off.

Finally got some QD upgrades for the MP60's so will add these as I'm keen to see (hear) the Improvements.

Now off to clean 300lbs of sand.....

I mocked up the tank with a wooden frame just to get a feel for it:

And then Benoît the builder cut the floor ready for the foundations, we decided that the correct depth was officially 1 Cocker Spaniel

Whilst this was going on we installed a dedicated electrical supply for the aquarium, this has 15 outlets and each one has an RCBO so in theory if any equipment goes it will only take out what is on that circuit and i will split the risks by having say 2 heaters and both on separate outlets

The base concrete was made around the steel frame as below

And for a while half the house was held up by temporary steel supports

OMG!!! How did you get my dog over to Europe just to take a picture of Him?
Except for the white tuft on your dogs tail, I think they could be identical.

I wish...... I've cut enough holes in a 255yrs old house that she starts to groan at me.... and solar tubes would need to pass through the shower above

Here's Monty:

15 month old working Cocker

He has developed something I've never seen in a dog before in that he actually dives under water to collect stones. He is willing to keep his head under water for up to 5 seconds in search for the perfect stone and he seems as happy with his head under water as it is above water, albeit momentarily....

I should have put him in the tank when I wet tested it, that would have been fun to video.

Thanks guys.

May advance the filling to next week now, just gotta make my mind up on that scape. It's funny that when you scape with live rock time (lack of) takes away much of the decision process but when you have time it's often even harder as you search for an unrealistic perfection.... Reef OCD
