If you don't mind me asking. How is Dubai.....assuming you've been there? I've been trying to coax the wife there for a vacation and she just says hell no. I think she's nervous about being in the middle east with all thats going on in the world these days. We are also a Christian family which I think makes her nervous as well. Looks beautiful and expensive but thats about all we know about it.

Dubai is great. I was actually make freshwater Aquarium at The Marine restaurant connected to The Burj Al Arab in 2006:

It is a muslim country, but they are well educated, at much like europeans if you ask me.

It is not as expensive as it look like. I can only recommend you to go to Dubai

lived and worked there for 3 years and i would not go back. there are only about 2 months out of the year that being outside is tolerable.

they put us up in hotel apts at the Taj Palace and they had a display tank with fake coral and marine fish that was probably about 1000 gallons. There was no live rock and there were different fish in the aquarium every few wks.

i would walk through any part of dubai at any time of day or night. safety is not an issue in the slightest.

if you go and have a drink with the wife, make sure you go to a pub style bar or you will be accosted by working women. if you go alone, make sure you do not go to a pub and go the the club at any major hotel.

anyone who is planning on going, do not accidentally bring any substances they consider illegal with you. im talking colorado crops not prescription drugs. antibiotics and viagra are available over the counter. at least they were in 2008.
