*Help* Red Sea Max S 400 or 500

Hope someone can help me.... I am going to be starting my tank over from the beginning and I have agonized to custom build or get a Red Sea Max S.

After almost driving myself insane, I finally decided on the Max S 400. Then when I saw one in person, the sump area scared me. Now I only could look for a second because we were late getting somewhere. But the skimmer is huge and I don't know if there is any place to put another small pump if you wanted to add something.

Has anyone else researched these tanks?

Does anyone have any words of wisdom on the 400 vs 500? 650 is out of the question. Way too much money... 500 is pushing it but if there is a big difference underneath I may change mind.

Any help is appreciated. Don't want to make a mistake. This would be costly.
