Right? PNW reefers are fairly well represented on Facebook though.

Coming from California the reef scene up here seems all but dead. Just looking at the post count for Southern California alone. Not counting the Bay Area. Where is everyone? Is it cultural thing? Or is everyone just into dogs?
Up here we don't need expensive chillers. |

I would like to extend an invitation to our friends at Reefcentral.

Also, Dr. Tim has a 10 minute "Bonus Video" that was made on the Rio Negro that he will share at the end of his talk. This event is brought to you by the Pacific Northwest Marine Aquarium Society, and admission is Free. As usual, we will also have a coral "frag swap", as time allows. Coffee and Refreshments will be served. The presentation will be on Sunday, January 10th, from 2:00 PM - 5:00 PM at: Tualatin Hills Nature Park & Interpretive Center 15655 SW Millikan Way Beaverton, OR 97006 We will meet in the "Beaver Den" room. http://www.eventective.com/USA/Oreg....ve-Center.html "Dr. Miller-Morgan has 30 years of experience in aquatic animal medicine and husbandry. Hello! I'm new to the forum and new to reefing, but I'm in Port Orchard as well. Maybe we can revitalize the place.

Well I'm still in the planning stage but right now. I'm settled on the IM Fusion 40 and putting my equipment list together. There's so much more involved than with freshwater. I'm going to do a reef tank with a few fish. Any tips on places around here that sell live rock? I'd rather not order online if I don't have to. The Shark Reef in Silverdale seems the most likely but I haven't been there yet,was trying to avoid the malls near the holidays.

This post came out 1/05/2016 on a different site in a PSAS subforum.
"QUOTE" PSAS is gone, no one supported it. SPCDA took over the Bob Moore. I regularly drive across state to be with a group of folks that understands community. Something that has been lacking in this area for as long as I've been around. http://bobmooreswap.com/ for the swap http://spcdareefs.org/ for info about the club. pnwmas has a meeting coming up. I heard about it on facebook, but in the pnwr group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/4789...42473/?fref=nf |

Other good stores to try are Oceans by Design in Tukwilla and Barrier Reef near Renton. Both have great selections.

Hey Washington. I am returning to the hobby after a long vacation and have had a request to join the PNWR Facebook for over a week. Anyone online to accept?
Cheers, |

Yeah I feel at times like we are really cut off from other clusters of reefers in the US.
I am hoping that we can figure out a group or club to gather around so we can have more regular frags swaps and community interactivity. |
