I haven't gotten any emails saying people posted.
That picture is beautiful Peggy!! Brian...I agree...lower the riser tube a little bit to get a drier skimmate. Once you get it set to where you're happy, you won't have to touch it. It's so easy!

Thanks for the compliments. A week after I got him I got new bulbs. I am running reeflux 12k. I put them in last Thurs. and ran the bulbs for 4 hrs. The next day 1 of the ballasts quit working so I have been running only 1 light for a week My new ballast should be here today though.

My three year old granddaughter got hit by a drunk driver on Thursday evening while out walking with her daddy. Thank God she did not get seriously hurt! A bloody nose, scraped leg and various bumps and bruises. They live in Suffield, CT and it's so hard being this far from them at times like this! She was thrown 10 feet!! Her most serious concern was that Princess's aren't supposed to bruise and bleed!
On a happier note, we went to Aquatic Visions and picked up some zebra turbos and a Molly Miller blenny to help combat our brown and green hair algae outbreak. The turbos are doing a wonderful job so far, eating away at that brown stuff. The blenny is settling in nicely and has been picking at both the brown and green algae. It's a really pretty fish - chocolate brown with a maroon overtone and a tail with white stripes/spots. It took the guy at the store almost 1/2 hour to catch her as she was in their rock tank. He took almost half the rock out of the tank to get her. It was a riot to watch him....we had told him he could take his time trying to catch her and we would come back next weekend to get her but he was determined that no little fish was going to outsmart him! LOL Hope everyone has a safe and happy Easter!!

I hope your Granddaughter is ok. I'm surprised I didn't see anything about it on the news. I live about 20-25 minutes away from Suffield. I'm sure she'll be back to her Throne and other Royal duties in no time. Being a princess carries a lot of responsibility!

LOL, too true!! She has already posed for her "blue blood proof" pictures. I called my son and daughter-in-law friday late afternoon but they could not talk as they were on the news and had to show the Princess her very first "press conference". LOL

I am really sorry to hear about your little princess. The drunk was caught and arrested I hope.
I would love to see a pic of your new fish. Sounds quite interesting.

Hey all,
I got some new aquistions this weekend First of all, I FINALLY put up gutter guard to protect against fish jumping. The back is now 90% covered. I will add a little more eggcrate or gutter guard this coming weekend to get it up to 95% with just room for wires going in and out. My clownfish has a new buddy! The new "guy" went into the main tank and looked around pretty scared for a bit, then he saw the other clownfish and they instantly became buddies and haven't been apart since I bought a 1" frag of orange Montipora digitata, I love the color and it had its polyps out 1/2 hour after being put in the main tank. The seller of the digitata threw in two frags of a brown/green monticap for FREE I hope it survives, my last monticap died after about 4 weeks. Of course my last one was in my QT tank for I think 3 weeks under bad light. Here is one of the frags: Of course a small piece broke off of one of the cap frags and immediately RTN'd. I hope now that my Ca and Alk levels are higher and stable this cap will pull through. Normally I QT things, but since these frags are from one of the best local fraggers known to be pest free I just very carefully visually inspected them with a magnifying glass and acclimated them to the main tank. I also put the clownfish in the main tank as it comes from our local clownfish breeder that keeps things disease free. Brian

Brain, glad to hear the new clown found a buddy right away. That has to make it so much easier.
Nice frags!! I have to wait for warm weather to get my frags. We're going to FL in a couple of weeks so when we get back the weather should be nicer up here. Can't wait for vacation and warm weather!!

hi every one. glad to see there are still active contributors to this thread.
its not looking like im going to be getting back into reefing anytime soon, but i wanted to touch base and check things out anyway. Pat, i like your swallowtail pics. back in Feb you made a comment about wanted a male really bad. im pretty sure that if you put another female in with the one you have one would change over. that LFS i shop at has four females in a display. one of them has been changing over the past few weeks and is almost a male now. every one else very nice pics/corals/fish/etc...

Hey Landon,
Nice to see you check in! Let us know when you get back into reefing But keep commenting here so our "family" stays alive. Speaking of pics, what about the people on here with new rock, any new pics? Brian

Full Tank Shot
Well here is the latest full tank shot I have. This was at the end of last month and the pic isn't all that good.

Sorry I haven't posted for a while....lots of traveling lately!
My tank is pretty much the same. I got my new lights but haven't gotten them on the tank yet since I was still working on the hood. I still need to do a few things on it (paint/stain) but hope to get that done this weekend. I'll try to get a full tank shot tonight. Landon- great to see you stop by especially if you're able to motivate lots of people to post pics!

I'm still here, just don't have as much time to post as I did in the past.
I was the same way about a year ago. What did you sell? A couple weeks ago I got over $200 for xenia frags. Of course it was in store credit but it works for me. I spent $160 of it that day.

You sold them to someone and not a store? My lfs is happy to take them. I actually think they sell them within a week or so because I have never seen any of my frags sitting in their tanks when I go back.
