Float switch changes not registering??
Changes in position for my float switch and a sensor for my avast barrel tender dont register. I rewired and the changes registered, then it runs in production for a couple of weeks and all of a sudden it no longer registers.
I have a 50' cat5 running from my break out box to my water change station. I onnect three switches to my BOB: fresh water low, fresh water high, water change barrel low. The latter two are the problematic ones. I wire each of these and the ground using two wires from the cat5. I twist the bare wires and tape them together. Any advice? Am I running too far? Is the guavemof cat5 too high? Is using two cat5 wires at the same time a problem? Taping them a bad idea? It's worth noting that I have two other float switches on this BOB that are working perfectly. |

In case anyone has a similar problem and is looking for a solution, mine is now working after doing all of the following:
-Using a single cat5 wire for each switch and probe instead of using two -Clipped and restripped the wire -Used tiny wire nuts instead of electrical tape |
