This seems strange to me but maybe I just got lucky as I had a IM 10 a while back and the stock return pump was dead silent for me. Been thinking about starting another nano so I might have to keep this thread handy if the quality of the pumps has gone down.

That's too bad. I was cautious about it as well since it wasn't part of the Syncra line. Return it and get the .5 you won't be disappointed but it will put out a lot more flow.

No noticeable difference. The sicce pump was already quite. I had it lying around and thought why not.

it is adjustable, but at full speed its more then calm enough for the tank, but plenty of flow at the same time. i wouldnt go any higher personally, especially if your gonna run another powerhead for added flow...
