is this snail is reefsafe?
Hello all ,
i found this guy (in the pic attached) moving around (first saw him on zoa rock then on the glass). i have 2-3 turbo snails im suffering some zoa loss so im currently taking out everything i see but, if this is a baby turbo snail i want to keep it. please help identify thank you. |

From my view of it, it looks like a predatory whelk. Not reef safe.

Columbellid snail perhaps?

It probably is a columbellid (which are reef safe), but hard to be sure because of the angle of the photo. Straight down the spire and bottom of the snail's foot are the worst possible angles. If you can shoot showing how wide the shell is and how elongated, spire to anterior tip, that's the best view for ID's.

Rememberd that I purchased some macro lens for my iPhone . Perfect Time to use it lol.
