Some of the corals are really starting to turn around while others are acting stubborn. I'm getting excited to add the rest of my fish, which will hopefully be about 7 days from now. I have a second regal angel that I will try to add by using an acclimation box. I will also be adding a powder blue tang, 2 bimac anthias, and 6 dispar anthias.
Mate the tank is lookin sweet! Just be patient and they will turn around, like you said some can be more stubborn than others

I can see this tank being awesome in a short period of time

I appreciate the words of encouragement Scotty, I sure hope you're right. It was tough seeing all my corals take such a hit.

thanks cugly, I tried placing all the stags up top and towards the back, while the bushy and tabling corals are up front. I hope it works out. And thanks about the fish selection. I told myself no impulse buys with this tank….which I've almost achieved, lol

Thanks so much. I really hope the second regal works out too. He/She is actually going into the acclimation box tomorrow or Tuesday. I'm really excited about adding the rest of my fish.

Thanks I, for some reason assume it's a male as well, but from those I've talked to and the reading I've done I'm not sure if we can positively sex these fish. My worry is that I might have two males so I'm trying to curb the excitement of having two of these beautiful fish in one tank. I will keep the thread updated as to how the introduction goes.

Out of the corals that lost all of their color, this was the first one to start looking better. It went from a light brown to this in a couple weeks. Hopeful it continues coloring up.

And this coral is the toughest piece I've owned. It holds it's color and PE no matter what I put it through.

Awesome stuff. Glad to see you're relatively local to myself. Looking forward to seeing the tank mature and sub'd for sure!

Thanks swk, yeah I see we are close by. I work in St. Halena and Calistoga from time to time. Thanks for checking in.

Much appreciated

I added some anthias and my second regal, who as you can see is in the acclimation box. I have to say, so far so good. The two regals are very interested in each other and I don't see any signs of aggression. Keeping my fingers crossed as I'll be one happy reefer if these two work out. I'm only using my supplemental lighting for now, trying to keep the new guy comfortable. He/she did eat within 5 minutes of being transferred from my QT to the acclimation box.

Thanks, It's definitely one of the nicest regals I have seen.

The introduction of my two regals couldn't have gone any better. Absolutely zero aggression. I was really surprised. They hang out together a lot, which is beautiful to see. I'm trying to get a better pic of the two of them.

Beautiful Regals.

They don't nip at SPS, right?

Good luck with the second regal.

Did you build a stand and hood or use a DSA's? If you used DSA how do you like them?

My wife does not know it yet, but I got the itch for a bigger tank and the DSA 175 has some nice dimensions.

I'm really happy, I haven't seen any aggression between the two at all. My only concern is the new guy is a slow methodical eater and I fear he doesn't get enough food. He is definitely eating anything I put in the tank, just much slower than my other fish.

Thanks, The regal angelfish is an all time favorite of mine. I can't imagine my tank without one. Like any angel, there is a risk with nipping. I've owned 4 in my life and never once seen one nip my coral… but you never know

Thanks glaukos, I will certainly get a vid up soon. I'm just waiting for the corals to come around a little bit.
