Cool I'm back....

Its been 14 years since I've been on these Forums and its still exist....Now I want to own a reef tank again. My kids want one and I figure I say I'm back. I've lost touch with the knowledge of owning a tank and looks like I have to do a lot of research again.

Hi!
What size tank did you have in mind? What is the look you're after (i.e - deep reef, shallow, minimalist) Bare bottom or deep sand bed??
Stuff you have to consider..
.....think about how much time and money you want to put into dosing, etc - to maintain the reef...
Read, read and when you get tired of reading then read some more.
I personally would start with a FOWLR, then as you step up on lighting and powerhead upgrades, add some softies...then see how they do....as you get more confident....go bolder with LPS then finally sps.....
And cardinal rule NUMERO UNO: get a quarantine tank!!!!
....just my .02....
