Emperor Angel Maturation Photo Timeline

So I thought I would document the changing of my Emperor Angel that I purchased nearly two years ago as a juvenile. When I introduced him to my tank he was only about 2". Now he's about 7.5" and the dominant fish in my aggressive 300 gallon FOWLR. I hope you enjoy this timeline as much as I enjoyed watching this amazing fish mature.

Very cool!
It's incredible that he went from juvenile to basically adult in the span of a year.

I have seen Emperors stuck in the changing faze for years due to inadequate diet and small tank size. You should be proud of your success. Thanks for posting.

Cool. Nice to see an adult in good body condition. So many of these have HLLE and poor color.

Thanks for the compliments everyone. He's been in my 300G tank since a juvenile and is now about 8" with excellent coloration. I feed a homemade frozen blend every other day along with NLS pellets on an auto-feeder and nori, claims, silversides, mussels, and other treats every few days. Easily one of the bigger specimens I have seen and still growing! Gets along well with most tank mates but hates my Blue Throat trigger for some reason...

This is such a fantastic post; what a wonderful visual (time-stamped!) timeline. Very cool, both for folks wondering about how the color change happens over time, and those of us who just admire these angels from afar. Very very neat, thank you for taking the time to document and share!

Excellent idea and terrific execution! Looks like a beautiful angel. I think I may have to use this idea when I get the juvenile Blueface and Annularis for my 300. Wonder if the growth rate will be anywhere close to your Emperor's.
