Moai robot glass cleaner
Has anybody seen this yet? Seems a little gimmicky, but might be a neat twist on the usually algae scrubber.

Well it only cleans the front glass and will it work around my magnetic algae clips? It also will no doubt send some snails to their death after they get knocked off and land on there backs.

Haven't seen that but the inclusion of a camera is a neat idea.

This looks much better than that old school super loud robot.
Ok it's got a camera built in to it, sold. I wonder how much it will be?

These seem cool but I worry about scratches. One stuck snail/starfish/sand under it and it scratches the entire panel.

Little nervous about sand getting stuck and it just keeps cleaning. Then you come home to a completely scratched tank

Looks cool, thought it is a great idea, making two useful things come together...cleaning the glass and taking pics of the tank throughout the day...it also helps its design is also very appealing

My fear/wonder is how does it know where the sand bed is? It appears there is nothing stopping it from going all the way down against the sand and drag that across the glass repeatedly. Would be cool otherwise to have a constantly clean tank with a webcam.

Seems like an expensive solution to something that isn't much of a problem, cleaning the glass. Though, as I say that the side panels of my aquarium are practically begging for a cleaning haha. Still, 299 for a fancy scraper camera combo seems absurd. Pass

It would be nice to have a webcam like that though.

It is probably like my Irobot vacuum, it know where it has been but not what lies ahead and forgets every thing after it completes a job.

I'm sure you can set it up to stay away from the sand bed. This is a feature on older glass cleaning robots, so I don't think they'd skip it.
The biggest problem I see (besides catching sand) is getting the round robot to clean the edges and the corners of the glass pane nicely. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Days ago I asked on their Facebook page about how it avoids sand and they never replied.

it says on the FAQ. You can set it so it doesn't pass certain line. So set it above your sand line.

I'd also be mainly interested in this thing for the camera. It doesn't clean the sides, won't clean the edges very well and may kill snails/scratch the tank. That's a lot of down sides on the "cleaning side". But again, that camera seems pretty awesome.
Even $200 is a little rough though. Still tempting. |

I might buy one and put 2 inches of sand in one of my spare 20 gallon longs and see what happens. rather ruin that than my 180
