Diatoms. If the tank is new it's typical and will pass, are you using ro/di? If not could be silicate in the water .

Really need to switch to RODI. Diatoms are normal in a new tank but if you are using bad water to start with it will be a problem.

Where do I get RODI water? Guy at pet store said that the filtered water was good.

Either buy a RODI unit or buy water from a LFS that has it. Mine sells it for 50 cents a gallon or so. Got tired of carrying buckets so I picked up a BRS unit and haven’t looked back since.

If you looking in the selling forums you can find a used RODI unit for a good price. Just put some new filters in and you will be set for a year or so.
