Has anyone heard of and/or used these hanging brackets?

40 Breeder w radion
Just filled my tank, new radion fired up. 40B, EMT conduit mounted and bent. I drilled the underside of the emt to accept the supplied mounting studs up inside and the inserted a piece of rod in the end of the emt, through the mounting studs to hold in place. Works better than I thought. I think I'll just zip tie the power cable vs running it through the conduit after I paint it.
I am very impressed with these. The picture make it look very blue but it's a very nice 12K white with a little blue. I don't know how they compare with other LEDS or how everything will like them in the long run but so far I love these! Last edited by Reilly13; 04/14/2012 at 06:37 PM. |

Looks nice and clean. Are you going to paint the conduit black?

I have a Question. I have the radion but I have yet to set it up. I have already programmed it but my worry is how will the radion know what time it is. Does it have some internal battery that keeps the clock going. Let's say when I hook it up over my tank at 2 pm will the radion just know its 2 pm and start of at that point in my schedule.
Next question. How come half of the People in this thread are complaining about a Lack of par and the other half are taking forever to acclimate their corals, sometimes starting at 30% and taking months to get to full intensity. The simple conclusions is the it can't be both, its either to strong and needs to slowly be ramped up or it doesn't have enough par and should be run at 100%. |

I had my radion at 100% for 7 hours and never bleached any acros within 8inches of it. Some lps got torched though. It really depends on placement and what your keeping chris.

My opinion is why get in a hurry. Take your time. Thats one of the best futures of this light you can set it at any intensity you want. my tank is doing great it didnt hurt it at all for me to take 1 1/2 months to Get lights up to 100%. I want to see how my tank looks a year from now. I know what it looks like today.

I'm with David. I'm switching from T5's to these LED's. I just want to be cautious and take my time. I don't have a par meter so I really don't know what my readings are. The way I look at it, better safe than sorry.

I started my Radion at 50 % and took 1.5 months to slowly ramp up to 100% in artificial mode. Never lost a coral and color looks better than ever.

I guess I am one of those people that are taking even longer. I have had my lights for 5 months and I am still at 80% in artificial mode!

Just so were clear, i was never question why people acclimate thier corals to new intense light. I was only questioning why people are contradicting themseleves. half the group is saying they lack par and are not meant for sps and the other half is saying there very intense and need to acclimate thier sps lol.
I think the light is great so far and its more then adequate for any coral pending the right ammount fo fixtures are used on a tank. No body answered my first question yet. How does my radion know what time it is. Lets say i program it, wait a week and then place it over my tank at 2 pm. Will the fixture start at the 2pm part of its program cycle? If so how does it know what time it is if its been unpluged, and if not how do i fix this problem? |

I Believe it has an internal timer of some sort because ive unplugged my light taken it to frag swaps and it will do the same artifical mode settings that i had programmed at my house. Plus just my 2 cents if youve ever unplugged your radion after you have made a lighting schedule and it didn't have an internal timer you would have to reprogram it again. Ive unplugged my lights plenty of times moving the ballast where i wanted them ect and never had to reprogram.
To answer the second question leds dont produce par the same way a t5 bulb or mh would ive been told but i dont have facts or a source to prove that its true. I believe it had something to do with blue crees or white crees not picking up with par test. |
