Viparspectra T300 lighting help

Just picked these up for my tank. The directions are damn near non existent or consistent with what the unit does.

There is a ch1 and a ch2
Ch1 is my acnitics 2 hours before and after blue
Ch2 is my day lights 8 hours whites and blues

Anyone have any actual hands on experience with light settings and what they should be running at for best lighting and effects?

I have 6 of the 180w (I think) version.. they are 18 inches. I have them in a 26 inch deep tank 14 inches above the water . I run the white at 30% and the Blue at 60%

Start very low. like 18 and 30 depending on corals.. They are stronger then they appear.

I have a pair of 165w over my 90g. Press menu, then scroll over to Ch1 - up/down sets intensity. Do same for Ch2. As mentioned above start low to acclimate coral. IMO 20 blue 10 white.

For timing, press Ch1 On, set time, let box display "he-se" before moving to Ch1 Off. Do the same and set times for Ch2 On & Ch2 off.

Anytime you make a change allow the box to display he-se to ensure it took the setting change and reverts back into your program.

Tip: after changing either channel intensity, press any channel on or off button. Don't make a change but allow a moment for box to display he-se.

I run Ch1 45% 830a-830p & Ch2 5% 330p-530p. Granted I have a two bulb T5HO retro also running 3 hours a day also.

What's your opinion on the red lights? I covered mine with electrical tape. Good idea since they just grow algae?

There are some out there that have swapped the reds out. I have not. I don't believe the reds alone grow algae. If you have higher nutrients, No3 and Po4, algae will grow even without the red ones.

Do you think the reds help with real color? Or don't matter. I can't seem to get my tank to look as colorful and vibrant as I see some of these people post.

Since I added a two bulb T5HO retro kit my tank looks just like the show tanks at the LFS. If you have space I suggest considering adding one. You'll always have shadowing unless you add multiple types of LED fixtures.

The reds in or out won't change the appearance enough to notice IMO.

Sorry can't resize the pic from my tablet.

Increase blue 420 spectrum , is your VISPARSPECTRA channel blue cranked up with low to moderate white?
In the mix, there should be a point where colours pop....

Yup, light is strong for a less expensive lighting option.
Except for the timer missing a few minutes each month or so, happy with them also

They certainly can..
In general objects appear the color they are because of the color/spectrum of light the surface is reflecting back to your eyes..
Plants in just red/blue light look black because they are absorbing most of the light.. Normally they are green because they reflect most of the green light back at you..

Red fish in just blue lights look washed out..
Most fish in non full spectrum lighting look bad IMO..

Tons of blue light makes colors look very unrealistic.. Many like how it looks like an acid trip though.. Many don't and want more of a "full spectrum" look..

Quite a bit of the settings you choose are for your own personal preference..
I typically ran mine at like 70-80% white and 20% blue as I don't like a tank to look like a bottle of Windex..
