New Aragonite sand wet in bucket???

Hey all,

Switching out my substrate from cc to aragonite sand and I’m only adding a little at a time. Was wondering if it’s okay to keep the rest wet in the rinse bucket until I add it all? Or would it better to rinse again when I add the rest?

Only adding a little because it was late and also was trying to avoid any possible mini-cycle as much as possible.

Thanks

Just give a good rinse before adding to the tank and all will be fine. I like to rinse mine with a hose in a 5g bucket stirring the sand till the water runs clear. That way you know everything is out and you have clean sand.

Ok cool, thanks for the input.

I only got a 15lb bag to start. Dumped it in a 5 gal bucket and then tipped it at an angle in my utility sink while I had the water going in it. Went back to work on my tank and when I can back, voila! Clean sand lol.
