Z.X., I really like this last one. Fantastic. (yes, a lot of the pics have been great, but this one really wowed me.)

Yep, that was at full 2:1, the width of the frame should be 11mm. The past few days I've been shooting with a new flash diffuser I built. Ditched the one I bought and built a DIY coke can diffuser out of two popcans and some duct tape.
Also built me a stick out of a wooden broom handle and a deck screw. Its just a broom handle with a spike on one end. Now I have a walking stick AND something to brace myself for those shots that you're swaying just enough back and forth you can't quite get steady enough to get the focus right on the eyes (or whatever you want in focus).

Geez, I've been slackin with this thread.
Z.X, post #79 really does it for me. Given that the spider was probably sitting there pretty motionless for a while (yes?), I would have gone with a greater depth of field. A minor quibble though on a really neat shot. #90 is very nice too. Jesse, the spider on the water surface is awesome. The spider is so light and hydrogen bonding so powerful that the spider doesn't even dimple the surface. Cool. Dino, the crane flies here are no where near as interesting. Nice shot.
