My 748 Gal A.G.E. Aquaillumination SOL lit Texas Dream Tank Build!

I have been in the hobby for 35 yrs & have always wanted to have a big tank.

First I need to thank my good friend John from Aquatic World in Houston, without him I would probably still be thinking about this tank. He has worked many hours with me to get this dream to come thru.

I also need to thank my beautiful wife for putting up with me in this hobby. The slime, ocassional smell, water leaks, etc.

My 200 gallon is in the living room & the deal was that I can have any size tank I want if I just get "that thing" out of her living room.

Litttle did she know.

Ordered 5-15-11
Tank: 120" X 48" deep X 30" tall A.G.E
3 sides starfire
3/4 glass
Stand: AGE built powdercoated steel
Sump: AGE built 1/2 acrylic 36" wide X 60" long
Drip pan: AGE Built in stand to contain any small problems

800 lbs of live rock has been curing since June.

Lighting: 20 AI SOL Modules

Control: APEX ( I have on my 200)
Skimmer: PM Mach 1
Media Reactors: PM SR55 (2)
Return Pump: ORCA
OZONE: Ozotec
Pumps: Ecotec (2) 60s & (2) 40s

The tank was supposed to go into my study which we were not using for anything. My daughter just had a baby & my wife wanted to use the room for granddaughter. The only other place this tank would fit was in our bedroom. We have a large bedroom with 16' ceilings.

I laid the size of the tank out on the floor with cardboard & wife said to do it. Don't have to tell me twice!

She has decided this after the tank has been ordered. It will not fit thru the hallway into the room. We have to pull a rear window out & move a 1600 lb tank thru the window.

A couple pictures:

He used to own Global & now has Aquatic World. I have known him for 10+ yrs & he knows alot about saltwater. He has not got the saltwater section set up in the new store, but he knows more about saltwater than anyone I know of.

Wait until you see what we (he) has created.

just curious as to why you got the ballistic 1 skimmer and not the "2"
their website and any info i have found says its only rated for around 500 gal. Did you talk with PM and they said it would handle it? just curious. (i have a friend that has a large build and that skimmer just wasnt rated enough, but i just wanted your opinion)
