which skimmer to get

I currently have a 180 gallon reef with a heavy bioload. I have a 75 gallon sump. I was thinking about getting the c0-3 skimmer. Do you think that would be to much overkill for the tank?

Thanks

The AquaMaxx CO-3 will be perfect for a heavily stocked aquarium with SPS corals. If you are keeping LPS/Mixed Reef the AquaMaxx CO-2 will do just fine.

For a tank of your size, the AquaMaxx CO-3 is your best bet.

We are expecting the shipment at the end of August based on the latest feedback from AquaMaxx.

If you click the "Add to Cart" button on the product page for the AquaMaxx ConeS CO-1 In-Sump Protein Skimmer, a window will open and you can enter your email address to be notified once stock arrives. You also have the option of placing a backorder to reserve one of the skimmers from the next shipment—we'll just charge your method of payment once we process the order.

I placed my order last week but was informed they will not be in until the end of September. Is this accurate?

Yes, we are expecting the shipment within 4-6 weeks. This is only an estimation and it is possible the item will arrive sooner and we will send you an email notification once the item is shipped.

AquaMaxx products, especially the skimmers, are in high demand. They may have underestimated how quickly the ConeS Series would take off and become popular. It sometimes takes a while for a product to be adopted in our hobby—obviously not the case here. However, that's mere speculation on our part. AquaMaxx is upfront with us about estimated delivery dates, they offer wonderful post-purchase customer support and offer an assortment of replacement parts to keep their equipment running years after the initial purchase. If we had concerns about their ability to support stores and end-users, we wouldn't do business with them. We understand it's frustrating to play the waiting game, especially if you've got a skimmer on backorder. If you've got an order pending with us but need a piece of equipment sooner, just let us know. At the end of the day we just want you to be happy and your tank to be healthy.

Have a nice Monday!

The CO1 is definitely gonna be a test of patience. Placed an order on the 22nd with an estimated 1-2 weeks backorder time frame and now it looks like it won't be available until the end of the month and possibly into November.

Hi dgobo. Thanks for your question and sorry for the trouble. The sale actually concluded yesterday, but go ahead and give us a ring today at 1-800-566-FISH (3474) and we'll honor the that price for you, no problemo!

If you'd like to place an order at the prior sale price, just let me know (hi, Jeff from MD here)! I'll pass the word along to our customer service manager so if/when you call in to place the order, you can pay the lower price and keep that extra dough for the holidays.
