Formalin bath

Can someone point me in the direction of what formalin treats and what the recommended dosage is for doing a bath. I have some new fish finally coming on Sat and would like to give them all a formalin bath before putting them in the QT.

Assuming watching them for 2 weeks should be enough before putting on the DT? I know some will say 4-6 weeks which I think is a little overkill and if I did that I will take me another 3 years to stock the tank

Thanks in advance.

20 drops (1ml) per gallon. The bath should be 50 min max.

5ml per gallon seems high, even as a bath. That's close to 1250 ppm.

formalin treats brook, flukes and black ich.
It is strong stuff! make sure you wear gloves and use it in a well ventilated location and not breath it in. for 37% formalin you use 1ml/gal for 30-50 min max. you want to make sure the water is well aerated before and during the entire bath because it will deplete the oxygen level in the water. Don't over use it because its a known carcinogenic.
in my opinion 2 weeks qt is not enough and would suggest a min 4-6 weeks. good luck.

it will buy you some time but will not eradicate it. you will need copper or CP for velvet.
