Magnesium 1200

Got a slight dilemma. Magnesium is at 1200 but any attempt to increase the magnesium has no impact on magnesium but does increase hardness. I can’t increase any further as it may shock the system. Any suggestions on what to do?

How are you measuring hardness? There are a number of measurements called "hardness" but they mostly don't mean much in a saltwater context. Raising magnesium should be fine but it takes a lot of supplement. What are you dosing? This calculator might help:

I use the red seat test kit for all my tests.

Either your test kit is bad or you have not added enough mag.

Do you mean the alkalinity is going up? Red Sea doesn't seem to offer a hardness test kit.
