New Millepora showed up today:

FTS where I think I would like to eventually place it once it settles in.

Are you worried about that RBTA stinging the blue chalice below it once it "grows up"?

The BTA is getting relocated to another tank for the very reason you mentioned. It's already dangerously close to some of the other surrounding corals. There really just isn't any room in my setup for any type of anemone.

Thanks, and thanks for that link. There's a few other things I need as well. Plus I think I'm going to order a bunch of pinch clamps... probably not a bad thing to have an extra supply of around.

Guess my plan worked.

The parents finally got fed up with my RO/DI unit in the guest bathroom. So they gave me my own sink in the basement, and even asked the plumber to install a valve on the cold water line for my RO/DI unit to feed off. Should make things much easier, and the floor is cement with a big drain if I would happen to overflow or spill.

Eh... it's ok... I'll have a replacement on its way soon enough.

Mine was blue, and had really started to glow the past few months. Here is a pic when I first dropped it into the frag setup back in December (Joe the Coral is in front of it).

You can see the top of it in the foreground. The 20k lighting really set the colors off.

Thanks, I'm a little dissapointed with them in the main tank though, a lot of stuff took a hit in the power outage a few weeks ago. Hopefully everything will rebound though.

The frag setup was a 20 gallon long... sumpless... skimmerles.... NOT fun.

I actually decided the other day to tear it down, or well just keep it as a QT tank. So I've been dumping what was left in it onto local guys. It's too much work maintaining the separate systems. Plus I just got the ok from the parents for Phase II of my project.

I need to get some estimates and see how much of a reality this is, and if it is, how soon I would be able to pull something off.

Thanks Rae. It's too much of a hassle trying to stay up on the water params and water changes every 3 days.

Not in its current location. The frag/qt system and all my supplies are located in the basement. At this point I'm not really concerned with a frag system since I want everything to grow in, but in a few months I may take a look at what options are available to me.

Yeah, that sounds like a good idea. Grow it out, then it won't hurt the size of your colony too much when you decide to frag out down the road.

I want to have a cube with some choice corals that I can frag and sell good corals to the LFS for credit.

Maroun C. is going to be in Cleveland this week, and I've been meaning to check in on some friend's tanks... so I made a few calls and set up a "little" tank tour for us tomorrow.

(1) 120g Mixed Reef Tank & Basement Fish Room
(2) Aquatic Technology LFS
(3) 180g SPS Reef Tank & 150g LPS Reef Tank
(4) 75g SPS Reef, 55g Clownfish & Anemone Tank
(5) 150g In-wall Reef Tank & Fish Room
(6) 150g Reef Tank & Basement Fish Room

Should make for a fun day... maybe some new additions, and a lot of driving. I need to hit the sack, because Laura and I need to be on the road by 7:30 am.

Oh and forgot to mention that my float switch/probe holder showed up from Keith today.

As soon as I get it mounted, I'll have my ATO and Kalk Reactor running.

It's either 1/2" or 3/4"

I'll have to check when I get back. The idea is just to have a small difference between the two so that if the first switch fails the second will kick the pump off before too much FW is added and the effect on SG will be minimal (if at all).

Also, I leave approx 1" of space between the top of the sump and the waterline when I simulate a power failure. So if the first switch fails then the power goes out... I won't overflow the sump.

I have a surprise heading TJ's way this week. He is coming back towards the canton area this weekend and I am going to have him bring it to me. I think he has an idea what it is, but I just assume leave him in a little suspense since that's what he is always doing to us!!!
