Not a whole lot to report. Noticed the face and tail changing quite a bit on my poma angel, so snapped a few pics. Love the facial pattern. Also notice the yellow stripe down the base of the tail is disappearing...

I've missed this thread. Hope your feeling better. I've got my buddy looking for some of those occelatus. We see them on the tranship lists, but typically don't order from those lists.

Maybe something will pop up in April.

I was going to dig up and bump your thread the other day Peter, I hadn't seen an update for some time, and was wondering how your inhabitants were doing. Your Poma is striking, glad you shared it with us...

Curious, how's your Scribbled is doing?

She's doing well... slowly growing... not much color change that I can tell... I'll snag a few pics tomorrow.

Sadly I know you lost yours.

If you were to do again, what would you say are going to be the keys to their success? Extra long quarantine? Are they just not aggressive eaters? Specific foods they preferred?

Yeah they only ate specific foods. Mainly minced scallop and blackworms. Never ate anything that had a shell, like Mysis. And forget about pellets. Made it tough long term, especially as work demands have increased for me. The smaller one never really ate well, except blackworms. I didn't have LRS fish frenzy at the time...

Nice pics, love the color change on the mac. Should be fun to watch him grow.

Do you think the LRS foods would have made a difference?

I feel like i've had to literally teach that stupid altivelis how to eat.

I think so.... since they seemed to prefer soft meaty foods.

Hey SDguy, I have been eyeing this 6" male personifer for quite some time. Do you think it will be okay with a 4" adult queen and two other tangs (10" hippo and 6" tenneti) in an 180g for a month or two?

Love the poma! Imo definitely an underrated fish. How's the aggression? I'd love to try another, just not sure how it would get along with the conspic...

I haven't had issues with multiple Chaetodontoplus species, so far.

Peter,

I thought your tank started as barebottom and then you added sand. It looks barebottom now. Am I recalling correctly? Did you go back to barebottom because you were having algae problems?

Frank

The sand tends to pile up in certain areas due to the flow. I was never able to evenly cover the bottom of the entire tank with it. But it's still in there...

You have a singular is right? How's it doing, I saw LA has them right now. Makes me watch dd a little closer when I know there is a potential box filler to get me to the free shipping.

He's great, actually. A much better option for my tank than the MI I gave away... Obviously doesn't have that amazing long dorsal, but the overall look is there.

The adult coloration is quite a bit different than that of a moorish idol right?

Could your idol just not compete for food?

Well, yeah, my point was just that the black white and yellow pennant type look is there... obviously MI's are much more attractive But the amount of food I had to throw in there to make sure he got enough was just getting out of hand.
