Ritteri not expanding

Ok so I bought this ritteri 17 days ago. Acclimated, placed it and it hasnt moved, hasn’t inflated/deflated, eats bits of pe mysis however it just doesn’t expand at all. Tentacles are staying stubby so it’s not happy about something. It is in good flow, often times very strong most of the time back and forth flow. Not sure how to make this guy happy. Only things in the tank are a derasa clam, about 6-7 fish several sps a few chalices in a 180. Flow is provided by a closed loop ecotech L1, 2-MP 40’s and 1 gyre. This isn’t my first ritteri. My last tank (all died during hurricane Irma) housed 2 s. giganteas and 1 ritteri. Here’s what it is always looking like:

How's the mouth? Tentacles being inflated at least is good. If the mouth is closed and tight, not really sure.

Almost looks like a little torch coral...

Yup mouth closed and tight. Foot attached solid and never wandered. Like I said it’s been in there 17 days now. I thought maybe it is bothered by my lighting which is majority LED and t5 supplements. Not sure what the deal is.

Where did u find it? I’ve actually looking for one like that. I prefer the stubby tenticales.

I can't help there. I've only have my own magnifica, not enough experience with other ones. Hopefully @D-Nak or @OrioN or some other mag experts can chime in.

Me too. Only had one mag and it was a model citizen, tank raised, but died in Irma

Looks perfect to me. Some mags have a tentacle form like that. I think they may continue to lengthen a bit as is gets settled in but I definitely wouldn’t worry about it. No deflations and taking food say healthy anemone to me. I’ve never had a sick one that would take good.

That anemone looks good. If he does not deflates, I would not worry about it.

I agree, it looks healthy. I don't think short tentacles is an indicator of poor health. It could just be where the nem is located on the rock -- looks like it's in a partial valley of some sort -- and the flow could be pushing down on it. I'd expect it to move up and to the left to expose its foot more. Once it does that I bet the tentacles with expand.

IMO, there are two separate type of Magnifica if you look at the morphology of the tentacles. Red Sea Magnifica usually have tentacles like this while the ones from the Pacific often have longer more pointed tentacles. Blunted tentacles often have a color tip that look like a slit at the end of the tentacles.
Anyway, your anemone looks healthy to me.

Hope he’s healthy. Like I said at least he’s been eating. I’m going to feed him a little more often and see how he reacts. Hopefully start to grow a bit then I’ll cut the feeding schedule back to a once a month or so schedule.

It looks good. It's holding itself up nicely. They don't need to ball up, ever. It's not an indicator of health.
