That is a defect we have remedied, we will replace it, what country are you in? This happens because the mixing machine jammed and insufficient hardener was added, now they all get a durometer test after production to be sure the resin is sufficiently hardened.

Like I have the receipt for such a small purchase a year ago. Also, you would offer to replace 50% of the unit? I do aquarium maintenance for a living & install tons of Tunze products in clients tanks. This is the only product I haven't liked. Unless the inside part now magically floats, I don't want another. Again, I love Tunze products except for this one.

My apologies for your frustration, yes, we only replace the part that is needed and not the complete product. Floating will come someday, however as you probably know, it is currently protected by a patent and outside of licensing, it is not something we can do until that patent expires. If you can find the receipt or want to send in the magnet, I will honor our warranty and replace the faulty magnet.

rusting on handle
I was wondering why mine quit working correctly. I thought I needed new blades until I saw the handle. I then searched the Tunze threads & came across this picture. This is what happened to my handle. How hard is it to fix this? How long it the warranty on model 0220.020.

Just email me a photo to the email in the post above yours and a copy of the receipt and I will send a replacement. The warranty is 2 years.
