1st ever chalice..id. and tips

So what you guys think how's it look been in the tank all afternoon..recently bought a couple acans and a favia and they seem ok so I went ahead and got a chalice..
Question is, I treat it like an acan as far as light..I really hope it likes this spot I will be dedicating the left side of the tank for this chalice..

It looks like a Miami Hurricane Chalice. These corals tend to do best with either low to moderate lighting and flow IME. They have a voracious appetite too, so feeding them once every 2 weeks or so will be appreciated.

Edges look healthy which are the first to show signs of death by retracting away from the skeleton. Wait till the evenings and feed some powdery type food, you should see a feeding response.

Thanks for the reply tweaked..I've been watching this piece like a hawk and no recession and it's keeping it's color..don't have any powder food for the corals but will pick some up this week..now that I know it looks healthy I'll be leaving it there and see what happens(hopefully some growth)
I'm sooo happy all my new lps are doing fine.. Did see some rainbow acans frags for 50 at my Lfs debating whether I should trade some stuff for it..we'll see..I always had bad luck with any sort of favia and acans so never was really interested in them but not anymore

Ah I've got some of that and wondered what it was called... low flow, low light for mine seem to work best, as it's a thicker chalice it will grow slower but will be healthier. Lots of feeding late at night, I use cyclopeeze...
