Is the color of the 250 W Radium identical on a SLS Galaxy balast compared to a PFO HQI Ballast?

BTW, I'd love to have your Butterflies...! Particularly that Tinkeri, but I'm too fond of Zoas and palys and a few selected LPS...

I know what you mean I can't put Zoas in my tank unless I get them cheap as treat for the boys and girls, they usually don't last a day, on the other hand I don't have any Mojanos or Aiptasia in my tank, I like that.
BTW that BB is not a tinker, it is a declivis

Tinkeri, Declivis—they're both AWESOME. Some of the best personalities in any fish, ever... I miss mine from my FOWLR tank... So the Tinkeri is the orange-ish one, and the Declivis is more yellow...? I can never remember that right...

I agree, both have great personalities, The difference is the color combination the declivis has a yellow angle strip in the back and the tinker has a black one.

They seem to come in in waves. I got 2, they died. I got 3 more, one died. Last time our LFS had them in all 10 were sold before they arrived at the store.

I have 3 400w 12k reeflux on my tank. I think they look nice supplemented with my VHO's. What are these 20k Radiums in comparison to the reeflux? Are they suppose to be bluer? Can I run them on mag ballast? Thanks

Whats depth tanks does everyone have their 400W Radiums on? Was thinking about putting one on a 20" deep tank. Too much or should I go with a 250W? Thanks

I don't think is too much at all. Most of my corals are in that 20" range from the surface in my tank anyway, if anything it will give you more flexibility to use the bottom as well.

What kind of bulb life are you getting on the HQI's? 6, 7 months??

From what I've read, 250's are made to run on HQI's and will last a good 10 months. But, the 400's I think are being overdriven by HQI's so, they last a few months less.

Wasn't aware of the 250's being rated for HQI. Have to check that out. I know the 400's don't last to long on the HQI, thinking about going back to the pulse start as I was getting closer to 10 months there before the PAR started falling off a cliff.

Yeah, 250W Radiums are HQI bulbs, which is why they look so terrible and overly monochromatic blue on most eballasts... The 400W bulb is not HQI and a very different beast...
