bad news, came home to find both of them floating in the sump. I dont know what happened there isnt anything else wrong in the tank? Maybe just too fragile and didnt like the move from the fish store. They had been there for 2 weeks.

What temperature do you keep your tank?

Personally, I believe lennardi needs <72F to be sustained long term. I'm suspecting thermal stress if your system is >76F.

BTW: the Chrysocephalus are both still alive and kicking though the female still isn't on the right time-shedule....the male eats like a pig and especially de live mysis I catched for them....haven't seen the female really eat,but she must been eating something after all these weeks because she is still not skinny...

Not that hard to find... But hard to keep alive. I don't think my tank is ready for a femininus yet. After all the tank is only 9 months old. I want at least another 6 months before I feel safe to keep a femininus.

There was a rumour about a 1000€ femininus in PD. They wouldn't let me see backstage so I guess it might even be true

Doubtful as they were in a tank that was >76F/24C and I have had mine in the same tank for over a year at that temp and its fine. I think they were too small. They were only about 2"/4-5cm, and they may have settled in at the lfs.

They are caught in north east western australia in intertidal regions. The water there isnt that cold.

I've experienced that all anampses do better when you get them straight from the wholesaler. When they settle in an the lfs and then have to readjust in your tank, they do worse. I have never lost one that came straight from the wholesaler, but from the lfs they seem to have a 50/50 chance of making it.

I'm getting a male chrysocephalus :-) one of the females is changing!

It's already 9" and I have plenty of room, and no shrimp or crabs besides the ones that came with the rock and corals. It's an easy choice, anampses or shrimp.

Thank you, that was done on a D7000 which I used to use before upgrading to the D600. Lens used was a Sigma 105mm HSM OS.

Whoww that's fast....the male is doing great Stefanie....still changing though... the tale is losing the red color and the white dots on the face are getting bigger, the body is still with white dots that are slowly disappearing.
The female is still on Hawaï-time shedule ,she goes to sleep when the lights go on even after 2 days complete darkness in the tank to reset the bioclock...after this procedure the male was transferred to my lighting shedule so I'm happy and hope the female will follow???
Will try to make a pic this evening of the male....

Strange how different they are in the changing proces. While mine hardly has any white spots left, your's still has a lot of them but the head markings are a lot further than mine.

If it keeps changing like this I think it will be fully male by the end of the year.
