Which tunze powerheads for a 110g rimless?
Hello all,
I'm interested in Tunze controllable pumps. My tank is 110g shallow wide measuring 50"x28"x18". I already have a gyre 250 powerhead but I run it at 30% because it blows sand away from the far side of the tank. I have SPS and am looking for more flow while keeping the sand in place. Right now I'm considering 2 6040's. The price would run about $300 for the pair. I also like the battery backup option and will run these on a GHL P4 controller. Should I go with the larger Stream 3s? Suggestions welcomed. Thanks! Chris

I would to use the 6040's except if you need to get some flow to a dead spot, they are too small.

I really like your FTS.
I have a pair of 6015’s on my 135 and they are a really nice fit for my high flow demand SPS tank.

Hi so cal reefers. I also have a question about flow for my tank.
It’s a 90 gallon 36x24x24. I currently have two 6105 and not sure if I have enough flow for my sps tank. What do you guys think? Thanks. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

For a 90 or 135 depending on corals I would use 2 6095's or 2 6105's with the bigger pump for SPS systems. If you don't feel it is enough, try working with placement and flow settings on the controller first.
