I simply don't have the resources here to do it...(I'm overseas remember in a rural 3rd world location).

Far better I release them once they reach the "leave the burrow" phase of their larval stage.

They're the most common species for me here, one of the reasons I'm here the other common species is the L.mac's and whilst they are common I haven't really come across them in the wild yet just stuffed in bottles live at restaurants and I've tried many times to purchase them live and bring them back to my place but none have survived yet, either the travel or a few days after the travel, because their not treated like pets at restaurants just food so they are SUPER stressed/exhausted on deaths door.

That's amazing how common they are but sad they are thus treated in such a way. Wanna catch me one since you're so good at it?

Even if I could I wouldn't be able to export it nor would you pay what would be needed just to export 1 animal over... I've already spoken about the idea in the past and its profitably not worth it.

Yea I was kidding, at this point I think I'll have to find a way to pick one up from the airport. Cool videos btw! I hope the mantis was ok after that last one

The mantis was fine it managed to free itself after a few seconds but I think that was an "insta kill" on the crab...

I leave 'here' in 8 days but I come back in 4-6weeks.

Still intend to get at least a dozen more videos up before I leave.

But when I leave I'll make compilation videos from all the content captured this trip detailing the "highlight" moments, this video will be in one of those compilations

I suspect when I return and over the course of 6months I will aim at between 250-300videos on the basis that the system is finally stable.

For the past 4years everytime I have returned I've effectively had to rebuild the tanks because they leaked/broke which took around 3months from each 6month trip...

I've also made contact with local reef aquarium stores in the hopes they can acquire different species of mantis shrimp for me (O.jap/O.cul/L.mac/L.lisa/L.mapia).

The ultimatum is still 3 different smashers (above 5inchs long) and 3 different giant spearers.

I've also got new equipment coming back in the form of refined camera lenses since I now really know what I am looking at with DOF and light parameters and more GoPro cameras (for more perspectives) and more specialized GoPro holders (so I can put more up closer to action and not worry about them getting knocked over during the action).

The next 6 months will be the most exciting and productive to date.
