That happens to many threads. If you see it, don't do anything other than click Refresh. That way your post won't be lost.

Recap:

Get an error message.
Click Refresh.
Wait.
If you get an error again (it will eventually time out), click refresh.
Wait.
Once the post is visible, go on to something else.

Thats what I normally do but I read in another thread that the author was having similar problems and the RC mods went in and fixed a few things to improve performance.

mesh

Is this mesh sort of like fishing line? What size are the squares - don't fish usually jump sort of head first?

I keep thinking to myself - Gill Net - I hope not.

My Bluethroat Trigger jumped the other night as the lights went out - luckily I was there and threw him back in - so I have a new found concern to deal with.

BTW - your reef is a beauty.

Gillnetting is a common fishing method used by commercial fishermen of all the oceans and in some freshwater and estuary areas. Because gillnets can be so effective their use is closely monitored and regulated by fisheries management and enforcement agencies.Mesh size, twine strength, as well as net length and depth are all closely regulated to reduce bycatch of non-target species. Most salmon fisheries in particular have an extremely low incidence of catching non-target species.

Glad to hear you were able to save your trigger.

The material is like fishing line but black and UV resistant. The squares are probably around 5/8" ea. I have smaller square netting but chose the larger to allow more light through. I am not too worried about fish making it through as most of mine are larger than 5/8". Ones that could fit through would need to line it up perfect.

Did you consider building the netting with acrylic square tubes instead?

Tunze Stream 2 6085's

Decided to add some extra UMPH!

Only have one going now and the flow is amazing! Water on the surface is totally churned up. The current is strong enough 72" out that it creates a swirling affect on the opposite end of the tank.

No they are just the full blast model. I ordered them to hold me over until I purchase the 6105's. Not sure yet when that will be. Probably not necessary until I repopulate the SPS.

JuniorMC-

Beautiful specimen and excellent photography work!

Very interesting observation. Myself and another Leuk owner are experiencing a similar predicament. My female has been quite hostile to the male. Recently both of us added anemones to the system and it only emboldened the females. When I return home today I will need to pull the male out and put him in a separate system as she is just too mean. Sad to say that I will probably end up selling both since they cannot seem to get along.

I know my male is TINY, and seems to never get any larger...the female is probably 2-3 times the size.

Im actually thinking about removing the male for a extended period of time and letting him get big and fat, and reintroduce them to each other down the road and see what happens.

Worse case one wins, one well...

She hosts a huge colony of duncuns and will go after a 5" flame wrasse when he comes by, so aggression is definitely an issue.

I am good friends with a guy whos neighbor bread them for years...ill ask and see if he has any tips....obviously he figured out something we havent.

This will likely just result in you having two females (if you don't already).
