Ati bulb help
Hello,
I have a 6 bulb ati unit with bulbs. I'm setting up the combination as per their website (first combination, see attached). But what order do I install them, as it says so i put all the blue plus together? And is that front to back or back to front?. Thanks Screenshot_20190817-130723_Chrome.jpg

That isn’t a positional recommendation. Just a count of each one. If that were my fixture I’d do
Front Blue+ Purple+ Blue+ Blue+ Coral+ Blue+ Read Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Thank you. It looks really white. With so many blues I didnt expect so much white. What bulbs are best to bring the colour to more blue.

Are you new to t5? Remove the coral+ and just run 5 blue+ and one purple+.

There will be some adjustment for your eyes and expectations. At the risk of this thread turning into a giant debate, I’ll just casually mention. Kelvin rating has become largely subjective. I’m sure someone may show up and provide some scholarly article outlining it, but there are objective criteria for assigning a kelvin rating. The challenge is you can have lots of combinations of wavelengths that create 20k, but they’ll look visually different. Kelvin ratings are basically a numerical average. You cannot assign a kelvin rating based on visual appearance. Everybody’s perception is different. I use 14k mh bulbs. If I come in from outside, the tank will appear super blue, but if I’m watching tv in a dark room, I perceive the tank as super white dare I even say a little yellow. Perception will dictate how your brain reacts to your tank. A 20k setting on an eco tech radion will look absolutely nothing like ATI’s 20k bulb recommendation, which won’t look much at all like a Hamilton 20k mh bulb. Trial and error will really serve you some good. Long story short. A “20,000k ATI recommendation” will probably be visually a lot more white than most led manufacturers “20,000k” preset. You’ll just have to get used to it. Even running ALL ati blue+ will probably be whiter than what you’re used to with leds. It’s the green spike from the mercury vapor in the bulb. You can’t get rid of that. It is what it is. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |
