What is my kole doing?

Is my tang being aggressive or is he being bothered by something. He only does this when I sit and look at the tank. So I think it's him being a jerk but he leaves all the other fish alone. 2 clown fish and a red fire goby in a125g.

Are you kidding?
Like a dog. Well that makes me happy. Cooper is always hungry and always pooping. I just did not want him to become to aggressive since I do plan on adding more fish soon.

is this the only fish in your tank?

how big is your tank?

My Lavender tang does this from time to time. Its usually stress from me having my hands in the tank scraping the glass or from messing with corals and rock work....

He looks happy to me! Once in a while you get a fish that seems to be human friendly haha Maybe he's happy to see you

Sometimes when a tang sees it's own reflection in the glass it will behave like this. Another possibility is that the fish feels threatened by you and all that tail slapping is an attempt to stab you with it's spike. Either way though it's really nothing to worry about.

Thanks for the replies.

I don't think it a reflection thing. He only does it when I get close to the tank. So I think it's him telling me to get away or asking me to put some Nori sheets on. He does love his nori.

Anyway I just wanted to ask because I will be adding a yellow and hippo tang that are two weeks into quarantine some time in July. I was playing with the idea of moving him to the sump area and introduce them all back to the display tank at the same time. I'll figure it out.

Put a mirror on the tank and see if he acts the same way. You will really see him go crazy.
