Red Green flash of death

I have an MP10ES that is 4 yrs old but only used for 2 yrs. It has started flashing red/green and won't start but I can feel a slight kick in the pump when initialized. Is this typically a problem with the driver or the dry side?

Can you turn the impeller by hand?

The wet side spins freely, and when attached to the dry side there is moderate resistance when turning the motor. I was able to borrow a dry side from a friend that we think also has a failed driver and the force resistance is the same. Oddly enough, both pumps were manufactured in 2013 just a few months apart.

Trying to decipher all the different color codes can be confusing IMO. I'd just call Ecotech.

The code indicates a failure, unfortunately it doesn't differentiate between pump failure and driver failure. Was just hoping I could get a quick answer from ecotech here without the hassle of opening a call. Most other vendors monitor their forums and give timely responses, even if it's just to say "call us".

They do say that many times in this forum.

Smoothdog,

Have you tried running the dryside without the wetside? Also, swapping the power supply with your friend's MP10 would be a good troubleshooting step as well. If you're still having issues, please call in today for more advanced troubleshooting. 800-785-0338 Ext. 2

Hi Alex,
Thanks for the response. I did try running the dry side without the wet side. Unfortunately all he had was the dry side and driver, so I couldn't test power supplies. I'll try to call this afternoon.

Thanks.

Figured out the problem.. Bad power supply. Hooked up an equivalent I had lying around and it fired right up.
