55 Gallon DIY Sump

Looking to use a 55 gallon tank to build a DIY sump/refugium. Thinking of having the input/skimmer section on one side with the return pump in the middle and refugium on the opposing side from the input that is fed from the return pump.

Anyone have any design advice for a similar set up or recommendations for something else that has worked?
