My 5 gallon oceanic traveling pico
i thought i would share my tank that i bring along with me every summer i go to a new or the same city for my summer job. the first 3 pics are of it when i got here and the last one is of my rearranging it just right now.
the specs are: 5 gallon oceanic tank with a false DIY overflow Maxijett 400 return pump 2 18w Coralife PC lights i use to put a nano skimmer on the back, but this year i am going to do a refugium on the back. Very nice little set up. Congrats on being able to keep a pico tank. It isn't an easy task and takes some work. If you would care to at a meeting, maybe you could give a little talk on it and tell all of us how you take care of it. Thanks for starting the thread, very interesting.

ya i would love to be able to go to the meetings. next one you guys have, ill mark it on my calendar and see if i can make it. Sundays are my only days off.
Im looking for zoos, so if you guys have some, let me know. i want a zoa dominated tank bc last summer was a sps dominated.

The next meeting should be on a Sunday and should be in El Paso. Don't feel bad, Sunday is my only day off as well.

you could just bring it to the meeting for a demo....just put it in your back pack and go.
do you use an ATO or just top it off manually.

i usually do it manually, but this year, i made a ATO device for it. i just haven't set it up fully yet.

Little tank is filling up nicely. Corals look great. I love the idea of a traveling tank and wish I had something like that with me now as I am away for a three month contract and miss the hell out of my tanks.

Great looking little tank! My wife wants to start a pico after we get our bowfront going. She saw one not to long ago that was a seahorse/algae pico. It was of the hook as your is. This hobby is just like your favorite potato chip, you just can't have one! Thanks!
