Feather duster move help.

I have a couple feather dusters that are attached to a chunk of dead coral. I want to move the feather dusters to the main rock and remove the ugly dead coral. Anyone know the best way of accomplishing this without killing the feather dusters?

They are attached to the dead coral. Originally I didn't plan on keeping the dead coral I just bought it to seed my tank with good bacteria. Then I realized there was more than good bacteria living on it. Oh well. It stays.
