Nice tank nysteelo pretty sure ive seen your tank on facebook awhile back.
To answer your question Tetra84 from my understanding you really only need 2 radions to do the sun rise and sunset mode but the dramatic effect of it increases the longer your tank is along with number of radions in result of this. |

Steelo I'm always impressed with how clean you always keep your glass. Seriously! haha, great video, nice to see how beautiful your tank turned out over the course of the year.

then set which side you want it to start on. thats pretty much it. just dont do what i did and forget that you have sunrise/sunset option enabled and go crazy trying to figure out why the lights were at different intensities at the end of the day |

Don't forget to start with the layout button, it took me a while to figure that out. :-)

That is good advice, the layout allows to put your XR30's in order. On the bottom of that screen is an arrow, so if you follow the arrow the radion on the left will light up first and continue to move to the right. All you have to do then is set up the offset time, which is the amount of total time you want in between the first light and the last light. I have mine set up for 1 hour, and with 4 XR's that is a 20 minute difference between each light cycle.

I just got a Radion. I have a single unit.
When I click on the unit while it is plugged in, I have it programed as I want. When I click on the Radion group or lights, there's a different program curve. I tried to export the unit's curve and import it into the group's curve, but it kept giving me an error message saying most likely the error is due to the curve being for Natural Mode and not Artificial Mode, which didn't make any sense. When I unplugged the Radion, I was then able to export and import without error. What happens in night mode? The fan still runs during this time. Do the lights stay off regardless of settings at the end and start of day more, or can the lights still be on based on programming for moonlighting? What do cloud and storm settings do in Natural Mode? How long does the unit keep time if it loses power (a day, week)? When power returns, does it automatically run the program? |

Speaking from my experiences idk if any of this is fact. The Radion fans will always be on as long as the light is plugged in i believe this is to prevent salt creep to getting into the fixture and the lights have an internal timer so when you unplug the radion and re plug in it at what ever time it will continue at what ever time of the day the light is programmed for.

The lines that start day and night trigger night mode for any mp es pump that you have on your tank. and any light configuration you have on the night mode side will be limited to a maximum of 20%

Question too ecotech radion owners, is it just me thats having this annoying issue with putting the pumps into feeding mode??? everytime i hit both the button at the same time the light cut off lol, so annoying i cant get it to go into feeding mode... seems like it does it on its own when it wants to work.
cool looking buttons but they fail at working properly when u need them to "sometimes" and i have to wipe down the top and make sure no other metals are put ontop of the light? sum1 told me this, just wondering if theres any tricks to getting the lights to work how theyre suppose to. |

personally, I disabled the buttons. I agree with you that they are too touchy, it's not worth the convenience of being able to put into feed mode via the lights when the slightest touch changes the lighting. just do it the old fashion way, push the button in the pump driver.

IMO I think pumps need to turn up for feed mode. I want the food to go everywhere. Fish are fast, corals like to eat too

I have looked at almost every page and I haven't seen it address but how is everyone working these around the tank braces? I have a standard 150g (72x18x28) and it has 2 braces on the top that are appox 3" wide and create three openings which are basically 22"x18". I remember reading the radions put out a 24"x24" footprint. I assume that I would need 3 radions but how would the bracings affect the light pattern? Anyone have a picture of their setup to show how they arranged their lights?
