Why is this urchin collecting so much crap



Seems like this guy is going around collecting little pieces of shell and even corals for his back. Why is he doing this and is it normal? I’ve had him for a week

It’s totally normal, mine usually has three or four shells as hats all the time.

My urchin likes to drop new frags behind all the rocks too.. it's like a tank initiation thing lol

It’s a tuxedo urchin. Perfectly normal, mine always has stuff on his back, front, sides.
