You should put up as many photos of the crap as you can. Then in 3 years when you look back through the thread it will make you appreciate how great it is all going then.

Thanks!! We are loving the tank again. Amazing how much of an emotional rollercoaster you can be on with a reef tank.

I am getting tired of my MP60's sucking my fish against the side. Yellow tang was stuck 2 days ago and this morning, I found my wife's favorite fish (scopas tang) stuck. Who knows how long it was there but it doesn't look like it's going to make it. I cut the intensity down to 3 on both and left the lights off for the day. Hoping it recovers because she is going to be really upset if she finds out it's dead. I tried the foam covers but they are horrible looking, get all kinds of detritus etc stuck to them and severely limit the flow within a day or two.

I know mp60's have more flow but I had similar problems with my mp40's and my gyres, but I have had Wav's now since December and I haven't had that problem, idk just a thought.

I never had this problem with my MP40's over 3+ years. I am definitely open to switching though since the 40's didn't provide enough flow. I could also recoup most of my money considering they are almost new.

Brandon, FWIW, I never had that problem with my 60's. Unless a fish was already sick/dying/dead.
Then again, they didn't run past 70% power in Reef Crest mode and my fish had plenty of places in the rock to sleep.
On a big tank, I'd rather have the 60's turned down in power for the wider flow, compared to the 40's running at full bore.

Dennis, I never turned them up past 7 either. And when this happened the last 2 times, it was at 5-6. The yellow tang has been stuck at least 4 times, the pink tail trigger once and the scopas, 2 times. I am just usually lucky to catch it in time. I unplug the powerhead and they swim away. Not so lucky this time but will have faith.

Btw, these are the new quiet drive pumps. You cannot hear them even when set at 10.

Do you find them in the morning? Or any time of day?

Usually during the day. But today, I found the scopas at 6:30 am.

Ok there goes my theory. haha
I was gonna say turn down low in lagoon mode at night. Keep them from floating in while sleeping.

I had tangs picking algae off my 60's cages.
So unless they're sick/weak, I'm not sure why they'd be getting stuck.

That was actually one of my theories. That they are trying to pick algae off the powerheads and getting stuck. I was going to clean them this weekend but realized we were out of vinegar.

Got a few nice pieces of live rock and some various other small stuff for the tank. Trying some different stuff with the scape. Most notably, the bridge that connects two of the islands.
